Gift Box
A folding gift box for the premium Double Diamond brand wine.
Tools: Cinema 4D, Octane Render, After Effects.
Working from mechanicals provided by the client, I dressed this box with as much detail as possible to create a realistic look. Satin heavy bond with large reflective foil elements.
This project required a little lift with the help of Maxon’s own Knowsman; Athanasios Pozantzis. After a bevy of IK rigs failed to produced the required fold, I reached out via Slack looking for answers, Athanasios answered the call and helped breakdown the project and even called in the Maxon dev team to discover I had inadvertently found a limitation in the IK system for folding geometry! With some team help we came up with a solve that worked. A future update will address the limitation that was discovered.
